On February 5, 2008, the Cour de Cassation rejected the appeal made by two photographers against a decision of the Appeals Court of Paris dated January 17, 2007,
which had found them guilty of counterfeit for having distributed photographs of fashion shows on a site that was not accredited by the Fédération Française de la Couture. The Cour de Cassation considered that the fashion shows were an art form protected by copyright and this protection was applicable to the entire body of work including music, creations, mannequins and the choreography.
